Sunset Bay is self- managed by the Property Owners Association of Sunset Bay, Inc. and is administered by an elected board of directors. The community association is governed by its own governing documents or Bylaws, Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CCR’s) and is committed to preserving the nature of the community and value of the property owned by its members.

Surrounded on three sides by the waters of Aransas, Copano, and Port bays, a variety of many outdoor activities are Rockport's appeal to local citizens as well as tourists with outstanding fishing and water recreation opportunities available. Rockport is just a few minutes away and Corpus Christi is 25 miles southwest of the Sunset Bay Community. Port Aransas and Matagorda Island with access to the Gulf and local beach is a 15 minute drive as well.
